I am so excited to be working with you and your children in 5th grade this year!  I graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  I concentrated in a variety of subjects during my undergraduate studies.  I plan to return to school and work to obtain my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Instructional Technology. I also have aspirations on becoming a National Board Certified teacher.  Education is my passion and I love sharing my knowledge with my students.

My previous education includes me being a 2002 high school graduate of New Hanover High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, 2011 graduate of Stanly Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. I worked for the Head Start Centers for both New Hanover County (8 years) and Wake County (2 years) as a teacher assistant before moving on to Wake County Public School System in 2014 as a teacher assistant and in 2017 a teacher.

I was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on October 24, 1983 into a wonderful motivating family. I decided to follow the path of education laid by my great great aunt Dorothy B. Johnson, of whom the school Dorothy B. Johnson Elementary School now the Johnson PreK Center (Wilmington, NC) was named after. I love my family very much. One of my greatest joys in life is being a devoted uncle to my three nephews Kamari (aged 9), Albert III (aged 5), and Kaison (aged 2), my neices Shante' and Taliyah, and my great-neice.

I love to learn, and I am constantly finding new ways of engaging our children. My other hobbies include singing in the choir and praise team, listening to all kinds of music, reading, and cruising in my car. I also love spending time with my family and friends.  I hope that this year I can pass this love of learning off to my students.  I look forward to a successful school year.
